Autism Acceptance Day
April 2, 2026
Nearly 1 in 50 Canadians are on the spectrum; let’s give autism spectrum disorder some love!
April 2 is Autism Acceptance Day, more widely known as Autism Awareness Day. National Autism Awareness Month is the month of April. We need to embrace and understand the diversity of Autistic and neurodivergent individuals. This is a day to focus on strengths and celebrate neurodiversity rather than focusing on deficits and areas to work on.
On April 2nd, we encourage everyone to show their support by wearing blue and decorate with multicolor lights.
The theme is Light it Up Blue (#LightitUpBlue) to promote inclusion, understanding and acceptance. Celebrate the talents and contributions of individuals with autism.

This day will be a celebration of neurodiversity and promote inclusion.
