Program Goal

Supported Lifestyles Ltd. Career Services believes that all people have the right to engage in and contribute to their communities through meaningful activities, including gainful employment.

Service Description

Supported Lifestyles Ltd. Career Services supports people to access and integrate themselves in their communities in meaningful ways thorough employment and engagement opportunities. We do this by helping people identify areas of strength and interests, often building upon an existing skill base, identifying the unique contributions each person has to make to the community.

Community Employment

Supported Lifestyles Ltd. Career Services supports people who experience barriers to work in securing a job. We do this by helping people build on their existing skill base, identifying the unique contributions the job seekers have to make to the business world. At the same time, we are partnering with local businesses to identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase profitability through the matching of a suitable candidate.


Community Engagement

Some of the opportunities for community engagement activities available include:

  • Get your read on by going to the public library and checking out the latest books, magazines, dvds, and cds
  • Get crafty with new friends as you work on scrap booking or knitting
  • Build your health and physique by working out with friends at one of the many recreation facilities in the city, including the Genesis Centre, YMCA, Village Square Leisure Centre
  • Become knowledgeable in the variety of outdoor activities available, including In-Line Skating, ice skating, and exploring the miles of pathway systems on foot, bicycle, scooter
  • Bring harmony to your life by joining sing-along every two weeks
  • Contribute back to your community by connecting with one of the many volunteer opportunities in the community
  • Academic upgrading including learning new computer skills
  • Create culinary masterpieces by joining in a cooking class every two weeks
  • Show your team spirit and Calgary pride by attending sports games to watch the Hitmen, Roughnecks, Flames, and university sports teams play
  • Explore your horizons on a day trip to Banff, Okotoks, or Drumheller
  • Master your domain with support to develop your life skills, including shopping, budgeting, cooking, and developing your fashion style.
  • Strike it rich with your friends as we go bowling with friends

Location of Services

Clients requiring day support have their services in all four quadrants of the city (NE, NW, SE, SW)

Hours of Support

Generally, Monday to Friday from 9am-3pm, depends on need.
